The outpouring of support for Jackie, the beloved bald eagle of Big Bear Valley, continues to touch the crews at San Bernardino County Fire’s Station 96 in Fawnskin.

Firefighters have received hundreds of cards and letters from people across the country wishing Jackie a full recovery. The correspondence represents only a small portion of the messages that have arrived at the station, with crews taking time to read and appreciate each one.

Support has poured in from California, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, with additional messages continuing to arrive from across the United States.

The overwhelming response reflects the impact Jackie had on people across the country through the Big Bear Valley eagle nest camera.

San Bernardino County Fire also recognized the dedicated organizations working to support Jackie. The department thanked Friends of Big Bear Valley for introducing Jackie to millions of viewers through the live nest camera and acknowledged the Ojai Raptor Center for its ongoing commitment to her rehabilitation and care.

As Jackie continues her recovery, firefighters join supporters across the country in wishing her a full recovery and eventual return to the skies over Big Bear Valley.
