San Bernardino County Regional Parks is excited to introduce a new lodging experience at Yucaipa Regional Park. In partnership with Stargazing Homes, the park now features a thoughtfully designed tiny home that combines the beauty of the outdoors with the comfort of a hotel stay. The stargazing rental is part of a pilot program that launched over the Fourth of July holiday weekend to an enthusiastic response.
“We’re excited to introduce a brand-new way to experience Yucaipa Regional Park,” said Jose Cañedo, deputy director of Regional Parks. “It’s an opportunity for us to bring a different style of camping experience versus going with traditional RV and tent camping.”
This one-of-a-kind tiny home provides the perfect home base for a quick getaway, or a longer glamping stay. Unique to this design is the one-of-a-kind bedroom. A California king bed is surrounded by two expansive six-by-six-foot windows, with a four-by-six-foot skylight overhead, allowing guests to enjoy the night sky without ever leaving the bed.
This option aims to provide camping opportunities to those who wish to experience a unique style of camping in a Regional Park.
Lexington Isham, business owner of Stargazing Homes, said forming a partnership with Regional Parks allows him to add a new tiny home experience to a park that already shares his company’s values.
“From the moment we visited Yucaipa Regional Park, we knew it was the perfect place for a Stargazing Home. Our company was built around one principle: disconnect to reconnect. In a world increasingly shaped by social media, screens and AI, we want to give people a place to step away from technology and reconnect with what matters most — loved ones and nature,” said Isham.
“Yucaipa Regional Park was already creating that experience for thousands of visitors and this partnership allows us to add a new tiny home experience to a park that already shares our values.”
Director of Regional Parks, Beahta Davis, added that the partnership with Isham aligns with the department’s mission by expanding on one-of-a-kind recreational experiences for visitors.
“This new amenity offers the unique opportunity to enjoy and explore the stars and planets while relaxing indoors,” said Davis.
The home features a comfortable living room with a pull-out couch, a fully equipped kitchen, a full bathroom with a hot shower and everything guests need for a relaxing stay. Outside guests can enjoy a private deck with a barbecue, outdoor seating and peaceful park views.
