I’m going to be forward with you. You don’t have to boil water before you cook pasta. It’s true.
You can put the pasta in cold water and then bring it to a boil. It sounds like madness, but I assure you it is possible. I have been cooking my pasta like this for the last couple of months and it has turned out great every time.
So, this isn’t so much a recipe as it is a cooking technique. So please forgive me. Although I think you will when this technique changes your life.
To Make
In a pasta pot add your pasta. Fill with water 1 inch above the top of your pasta. Turn burner on high and bring to a boil. Set timer for a few minutes more than the package recommends. Stir occasionally. When timer goes off, try the pasta. It may need a couple more minutes to finish cooking. (Optional – Save a little pasta water for your sauce, the pasta water you made is great as a thickener for sauces.) Strain and EAT!
