Fancy Toast

We have an incredible bakery nearby and I can eat a loaf of their sourdough all on its own. I grab a piece, rip it off, and stuff it in my mouth. However, as fresh sourdough is not laced with preservatives, it will start to get a little crusty within a day or two. When that happens, it is toast time. Slice a thick piece, throw it in the toaster, and you will breathe new life into the bread. A light toast will give you some softness and a longer toast a soft inside with crispy outside. Throw on some yummies and you have a decadent snack.

Ingredients

  • Thick slice of bread
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil
  • Tomato
  • Garlic

To Make

Toast the bread until it is a bit crunchy on the outside. Take a clove of garlic and rub it over the toast. Cut the tomato in half and do the same. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Eat!
