Outreach efforts connect community members to essential support

San Bernardino County Probation serves warm meals to community members during a local outreach event, helping provide nourishment and connection to supportive services.

The San Bernardino County Probation Department’s Homeless Outreach Unit has hosted multiple outreach efforts this month, bringing together community partners to provide supportive services and essential resources to individuals experiencing hardship.

On April 1, the Homeless Outreach Unit provided warm meals, clothing and additional resources directly to individuals in need in the city of San Bernardino. The team identified community members’ needs and connected individuals to available services. These outreach efforts reflect a shared commitment to service and working collectively to provide practical support when and where it is needed most.

On April 8, the team hosted an Easter Social at CityLink in Fontana, in partnership with CityLink and Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County (CAPSBC). The event served 120 hot meals and provided 34 showers, along with hygiene products and clothing, all available on-site. Efforts like this reflect the department’s commitment to ensuring people are treated with dignity while connecting them to services that can help improve stability.

These opportunities demonstrate how collaboration and continued engagement can make a difference for individuals facing difficult circumstances. By working together and staying focused on meaningful solutions, the Homeless Outreach Unit demonstrated its dedication to the department’s mission and core values, while making a positive impact on the community.
